kieran-sweeneyKieran is a Chartered Educational Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (Ps.S.I.) and is a full member of the Psychological Society of Ireland’s Division of Educational Psychology. He is also a member of the Scheme for the Commissioning of Psychological Assessments (SCPA panel). This scheme is administered by the Department of Education and Skills.

Kieran worked in the UK for many years, initially as a learning support teacher and subsequently as an Educational Psychologist at the Hornsby Centre in London. After returning to Ireland in 1999, he worked for several years as an Educational Psychologist with the Dyslexia Association of Ireland. He has been working in private practice since 2002.

Kieran is currently an Assessor for the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) and is involved in assessing DARE applications under the categories of Specific Learning Difficulty (dyslexia) and Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (dyspraxia). In recent years, he has undertaken educational assessments for various third level colleges in the Dublin area. Kieran also served as a member of the Disability Advisors Working Network (DAWN) working group in developing standardised assessment procedures for students with disabilities in higher education in Ireland.
